Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
Maintenant on peu dire qu'on a fait l'expérience d'une tempête de neige québécoise! Grosse tempête de neige dimanche, ce qui rend la circulation très difficile, ce matin j'ai eu du mal à emmener Clara chez la nounou. Mais bon comme j'ai un entretien pour un boulot à 13 heures, bien obligée.
Sinon le week-end a été bien sympathique. Samedi Isabelle et Greg sont venus déjeuner avec leur petite Clara, voilà une photo des petites jouant avec Tycho:
We can now say that we've experienced a real Quebec snow storm! Big snow storm yesterday, making driving conditions very difficult, I had some trouble getting Clara to daycare this morning. I have a job interview at 1 today so I had to take her anyway.
Other than that the weekend was good. On Saturday Isabelle and Greg came for lunch with their little Clara, here's a photo of the little ones playing with Tycho:
On devait aller se promener samedi après-midi, mais il faisait tellement froid (-20) qu'on a décidé de ne pas y aller, en plus les petites étaient crevées, donc voilà, pas de balade dans le parc, même si ça aurait été l'occasion de prendre de belles photos.
Hier la tempête a commencé, alors on a décidé d'aller au centre commercial faire quelques achats de Noël. Quand on en est parti du centre commercial c'était comme être dans un désert de neige, on n'y voyait plus rien, il était tombé énormément de neige, et ça a continué jusque tard cette nuit.
We were supposed to go out for a walk on Saturday afternoon, but the weather was so cold (-20C) that we decided not to, and the Claras were so tired anyway, so no walk in the park, which is a shame cos it was a good day to take some photos.
Yesterday the snow storm started so we decided to go to the mall for some Christmas shopping. When we left the mall it was like being in a snow desert, the visibility was very poor, a lot of snow had fallen, and it didn't stop until late last night.

Et la neige ci-dessous correspond vraiment au niveau de neige dehors, ce n'est pas juste de la neige projetée contre la fenêtre! / The line of snow actually shows the level of snow outside, it's not just snow which has been blown against the window!
Quand on ouvrait la porte de derrière hier soir: / Here's when we opened the back door last night:
Et ce matin: / Same view this morning:
Bon allez, je me vais aller me préparer pour mon entretien, je vous tiens au courant.

Dernier jour à Toronto / Last day in Toronto
Pour notre dernier jour de vacances, petit-dej avec Cam et Mat de bonnes viennoiseries du Pain perdu, hmmm trop bonnes. Ensuite un peu de skype avec Liz et avec ma soeur, après quoi on va retrouver le père de Doug et Stéphanie, une copine de Camille de Montréal. On déjeune dans un super resto italien.
For our last day in Toronto, we're having breakfast with Cam and Mat, nice danish pastries from Pain perdu, hmmm delicious... Then a bit of skype with Liz and my sister, after which we're meeting Doug's dad and Stéphanie, Camille's friend from Montreal. We're having lunch in a great italian restaurant.

On a repris la route pour Québec dimanche matin, le voyage s'est super bien passé, on a retrouvé Québec recouverte d'un manteau blanc, ayant essuyé une énorme tempête de neige la semaine précédente, de belles photos en perspectives... Au prochain épisode.
We hit the road to Quebec City on sunday morning, the trip went really well, we came back to find Quebec City under a thick blanket of snow, having been rocked by a snow storm the previous week, we'll be sure to snap pretty pictures of all that snow... Till next time.
For our last day in Toronto, we're having breakfast with Cam and Mat, nice danish pastries from Pain perdu, hmmm delicious... Then a bit of skype with Liz and my sister, after which we're meeting Doug's dad and Stéphanie, Camille's friend from Montreal. We're having lunch in a great italian restaurant.

Leur retour fut difficile, leur vol ayant un retard de 8 heures, ils sont arrivés à Toronto en pleine nuit. On était bien contentes avec Camille de retrouver nos petits maris!
The return trip proved to be quite difficult, the flight being delayed by over eight hours. Still Camille and I were glad to get our husbands back!

Déjeuner au Pain Perdu / Lunch at Pain Perdu
Au programme d'aujourd'hui déjeuner au Pain perdu, la boulangerie/café où travaille Camille, ils font plein de spécialités françaises. Il y avait plein de monde, Camille était un peu débordée, d'ailleurs voilà une photo d'elle en plein speed:
Today I lunched at Pain perdu, the bakery/coffee shop where Camille is working, they do lots of french specialties. It was packed, Camille was a little overworked. Here's a picture of her in a rush:

Ce soir Victoria vient passer la soirée avec nous, on a invité Jeannot à dîner. Aujourd'hui il fait super beau, un peu froid (-8) alors on va aller se balader dès que Clara aura fini sa sieste.
Victoria is spending the night with us, Jeannot is also coming for dinner. The weather is lovely today, a little bit cold (-8C), we're goingto take a walk as soon as Clara wakes up.

Notre dimanche / Our Sunday
Jeannot est venu nous rendre une petite visite ce matin juste avant qu'on parte déjeuner chez Elspeth et Victoria, il en a profité pour nous donner un petit coup de main et déneiger sous la voiture.
Jeannot paid us a quick visit this morning just before we left for lunch at Elspeth and Victoria's, he gave us a hand shoveling the snow from under the car.

Malgré le mauvais temps et la neige, cet aprèm on est allé se ballader dans les Beaches, sur le bord du lac, on s'est pris une bonne saucée. Les piles de l'appareil photo étaient mortes du coup on n'a pas de photos, c'est dommage.
Despite the bad weather and the snow, we went for a walk in the Beaches, on the lake side, we got really wet. The batteries of the camera died so unfortunately we don't have any photos of that.

Trajet à Toronto / Trip to Toronto
Bien arrivés jeudi soir à Toronto, malgré une série de malchances, commençant par Doug qui s'est souvenu qu'il avait oublié son passeport après qu'on ait roulé pendant une heure ! On a dû faire demi-tour, donc on a rajouté 2 heures à un trajet qui doit prendre 10 heures, sympa ! Ensuite on a eu 1 heure et demi d'embouteillages à Montréal, pire que l'A6, on y croyait pas ! Après ça on peut dire que ça s'est un peu mieux passé, malgré les travaux sur la route et la tempête de neige que nous avons bravé. En tout cas on était bien content de retrouver Camille et Mathieu, qui nous avaient attendu pour mangé, petit dîner sympathique à minuit.
Arrived safe and sound in Toronto on Thursday night, in spite of a series of misfortunes, starting with Doug realising he'd forgotten his passport after an hour on the road! We had to go back, which added an extra 2 hours to our 10 hour trip, nice! Then we got stuck in traffic in Montreal for an hour and a half, it was worse than Paris traffic, we couldn't believe it! After that it could only get better, despite the roadworks and the snowstorm we had to face. Still, we were pleased to see Camille and Mathieu again, who had waited for us to have dinner, which we had at midnight.
Vendredi on a retrouvé Victoria et Alan pour déjeuner en plein centre, ils étaient contents de revoir Clara, et samedi matin les garçons sont partis à Los Angeles. Camille et moi sommes allées au Eaton Centre, car Camille avait désespérément besoin d'une doudoune bien chaude pour l'hiver, en effet, hier il a fait -18 à Toronto (température ressentie). On s'est aussi balladées dans son quartier qui est très sympa.
On Friday we met up with Victoria and Alan downtown for lunch, they were happy to see Clara again, and on Saturday morning the boys left for LA. Camille and I went to the Eaton Centre, as Camille desperately needed a big puffy jacket for the winter, actually yesterday it was -18 in Toronto, with the wind chill. We also went for a walk in their lovely neighbourhood.
Cette nuit il a bien neigé, c'est super beau dehors. Last night it snowed, it's really beautiful outside.
Allez, je vous laisse on doit se préparer pour aller déjeuner chez Elspeth et Victoria, dans leur nouvelle maison.
