1er Noël de Clara / Clara's 1st Christmas

Voilà les photos du premier Noël de Clara, on a commencé par ouvrir les cadeaux à la maison le matin. Alan, qui était un peu malade est seulement venu nous rejoindre pour une heure ou deux avant que nous allions chez le frêre d'Elspeth.

Here are the photos of Clara's first Christmas, we started off by opening the presents at home in the morning. Alan, who was still a bit ill only came for a couple of hours to see us before we left for Elspeth's brother's.

Bien arrivés à Toronto ! / Arrived safe and sound in Toronto!

Le voyage s'est super bien passé, on a mis juste un peu plus de 9 heures. Clara a dormi pendant la plupart du trajet, car elle est un peu malade petite bichette. Ce matin elle avait 38,6 de fièvre, et depuis elle n'arrête pas de dormir.

The trip was fine, it took us just over 9 hours. Clara slept for most of it, being ill and all poor soul. This morning her temperature was 38.6, and she's been sleeping all morning.



On se prépare à réveillonner ce soir, Elspeth a préparé une spécialité québecoise (elle a grandi à Montréal): la tourtière.
Demain nous allons fêter Noël chez le frêre d'Elspeth à Newmarket (une banlieue de Toronto), avec Dot (la maman d'Elspeth) et Alan (Si tout va bien car il a la gastro pour le moment).
Encore une fois joyeux noël, je vous embrasse tous très fort.

We're getting ready for our Christmas eve dinner, Elspeth has cooked a specialty from Quebec (she grew up in Montreal): Tourtière.
Tomorrow we're celebrating Christmas at Elspeth's brother's in Newmarket (a suburb of Toronto), with Dot (Elspeth's mum) and Alan (if all goes well cos right now he's got a stomach bug).

Joyeux Noël / Merry Christmas

Bon voilà, après trois jours de dur labeur, je suis en vacances... Hier nous sommes allés déjeuner tous ensemble avec les gens du boulot, c'était sympathique (voir photo ci-dessous avec ma collègue Chantale). Demain on prend la route pour Toronto à nouveau, on y reste pendant toute la période des fêtes, ça va faire du bien d'être en famille, même si bien-sûr on aimerait être aussi avec la famille de France, d'Ecosse et d'Italie. En tout cas on vous souhaite à tous de bonnes fêtes de fin d'année, on sera sur disponible sur skype pour ceux qui ont l'habitude de skyper avec nous. Plein de bisous et meilleurs voeux des Marshaux !

After 3 days of hard work, I'm now on holiday... Yesterday we had our work Christmas lunch, it was nice (see below photo with my colleague Chantale). Tomorrow we're going to head off to Toronto again, we're staying there for the whole Christmas holiday, it's going to be nice to be surrounded by family, even though we wished we could also be with the french, scottish and italian family. Anyhow we wish you all a very merry Christmas, we will be on skype for those of you who are used to skyping with us.

1er jour de boulot / 1st day at work

Ca y est j'ai fait mon permier jour de boulot chez Anapharm, c'était bien, les gens sont très sympas, presque tous des québécois. C'était rigolo de voir les habitudes des gens qui travaillent ici. Ils m'ont fait faire une visite du site. Il y a une grande salle dans laquelle tous les employés (c'est à dire quelques centaines) laissent leur manteau et leurs bottes d'hiver, toute la surface au sol est remplie de bottes! Et il y a une autre salle avec des frigos, et tout le monde y place son sac isotherme pour le déjeuner. On ne verrait pas ça en France! Les gens se font vraiment confiance ici.
Par contre c'est un peu galère de s'organiser pour les trajets en voiture avec Douggy, mais on va y arriver.

My first day at Anapharm is over, it was good, the people are real nice, almost all quebecers. It was kind of fun to discover people's working habits. They gave me a tour of the place. There's a big room in which all the employees (that's to say a few hundred) leave their coat and winter boots, the whole surface is filled with boots! And there's another room equiped with fridges, in which everyone leaves their pack lunch in an insulated bag. You'd never see that in France! People are really trusting here. It's a bit of a pain picking up Clara from daycare and me from work for Doug, but we'll find a solution.

Nouveau job / New job

Voilà c'est bon je suis embauchée comme assistante chez Anapharm, je commence demain matin!!!! Du coup je garde Clara avec moi aujourd'hui pour ma dernière journée en tant que mère au foyer. Bisous à tous.
That's it , I got the job at Anapharm as an assitant, starting tomorrow. Thus I'm keeping Clara at home for my last day as a housewife.
